RE Services began the vending business inside two textile mills over 40 years ago. With the advent of microwave ovens and dollar bill changers, vending became a great solution for people eating on the go. Stan and Steve began buying vending companies throughout the 90’s and early 2000. By doing this, RE Services was able to expand the vision of their customer service and gain the efficiencies of a regional food service company.
In 1999, RE Services became a franchise of Canteen Vending Services, the oldest operating vending service company in the world. Established in 1929, with only a few locations and 100 five-cent candy bar machines, the Canteen distributor was born. Canteen, with over 90 franchises and 100 company stores is the world’s largest vending company. Now Canteen is part of the Compass Group, the world’s largest food service and catering company. Now our customers have the best of both worlds – local family ownership with access to the equipment, people and programs of the largest food service company in the world!

RE and Canteen’s philosophy for service is based upon the development, implementation and maintenance of the highest professional service standards. The ability to deliver quality programs again and again under very different circumstances for clients with very different objectives is unique in the vending service industry. This ability says more about our management philosophy than anything we say in our proposal.
